The DIP mandatory home insurance policy, NOW only one click away at ASTRA Asigurari
Starting with July 29th, 2010, ASTRA Asigurari is the first company on the market to provide Romanians with the option of concluding the PAID mandatory home insurance in real time, online, by accessing the direct sales portal www.astraonline.ro.
In accordance with law no. 260/2008, the home insurance policy (PAID) became mandatory as of July 15th, 2010. Every Romanian, in the rural or urban area, must hold such an insurance policy and if not, the fines established by law will be several tens higher than the insurance premium. In order to support its clients, ASTRA Asigurari, the most important company with Romanian majority capital and shareholding, provides its clients with the option of concluding the home insurance policy immediately, on their computer, 24/7, from home or work.
The risks associated to this type of policy are, in accordance with the law: flood, earthquake and land slide, as Acts of God. The insured amounts and the insurance premiums vary according to the support structure and the building materials, as such:
- for real estate built with a support structure made of concrete or with external walls made of materials subject to thermal/chemical treatment, the insured amount is Euro 20,000, and the insurance premium is Euro 20/year;
- for real estate with external walls made of materials that were not subject to thermal/chemical treatment (e.g. mud-bricks), the insured amount is Euro 10,000, and the insurance premium is Euro 10/year.
- flood/earthquake/land slide, as Acts of God, over the insured amounts stipulated by the Law on mandatory home insurance;
- flood due to causes other than Acts of God;
- fire, lightning strike, explosion, falling objects, collision due to vehicles on the road, atmospheric phenomena (including pail), weight of the snow/ice layer, avalanche, flood caused by damages on the internal water pipes, theft/burglary.
