ASTRA Asigurari pays damages caused by floods. 300 files on damages to homes that were damaged or totally destroyed by the floods in the Northern area of the country.

Today, July 8th, 2010, the ASTRA Asigurari company will start payments for 88 damage files instrumented in Suceava and 17 files instrumented in Botosani county. Compensation to be paid for such files amounts to RON 777,600 (RON 550,400 in Suceava si RON 227,200 in Botosani).

So far, the company has 300 damage files that are subject to approval, however, the number thereof could increase. For the instrumentation thereof, ASTRA Asigurari has established a damage reserve amounting to RON 2,500,000. Approximately 140 files are ongoing processing only in the Suceava county area, the area that was subject to the most significant damage due to Acts of God, where 3 total damages were also registered.

In accordance with its stated mission - to support the insured and to provide them with prompt services, the ASTRA Asigurari management team has taken a series of immediate measures to support the insured victims. Therefore, the procedure on the approval of damage files was simplified, and the staff in the territory, holding damage implementation attributions, was supplemented. For the most immediate settlement of damage cases, human resources were relocated from Bucharest and from the surrounding areas of the damaged counties. Damages of up to RON 6,000 will be paid on the spot, so that the insured persons can start the re-building works.
