ASTRA Asigurari opens the first Claims Center for the insurer’s regional network in the Western region and launches the on-line application for all customers using iPhones, iPods or iPads.

Astra Asigurari, the insurance market leader in Romania, opens its Claims Center for the insurer’s regional network in the Western region and launches the draft platform for the Repair Scheduling Office in this area in order to provide fast and efficient services to its customers.

Astra Asigurari is also launching a free application for all customers using iPhones, iPads or iPods. The application will provide customers with fast access to useful information, such as procedures for filing claims (with the option of calling the call center directly, road assistance, assistance abroad), access to the company’s most important products with the possibility of issuing MTPL, Motor Hull, travel and household insurance policies by phone or on-line. The interactive map helps customers find the nearest Astra agency or branch, based on their current location.

Radu Mustatea, Chairman of the Board, Astra Asigurari: We want to constantly support our customers both through IT solutions and directly. Providing constantly improved services to our customers, from submitting the claim files to completing the repair works, is extremely important. This is why we implemented a major program for assessing the quality of the repair works conducted by the partnering repair shops for vehicles with approved claim files. In the first three months alone, we checked the quality of repair works carried out on over 370 vehicles throughout the country.

Nationwide, the claims paid by Astra Asigurari on MTPL and Motor Hull in the first nine months of 2011 went up 30% compared to the same period last year, their amount increasing from RON 342,590,000 in 2010 to RON 445,472,571 in 2011. The MTPL claims paid by the company in the first nine months of 2011 amounted to RON 283,519,188 (over 62,000 settled files) and to RON 161.953.383 lei (more than 42,000 settled files) on the Motor Hull segment.
