At the end of 2009, the company has registered a total subscribed gross premium volume of lei 809,471,525, registering a 25% increase compared to 2008 and a net accounting profit amounting to lei 6,206,843, registering a 68% increase compared to 2008.

The gross premiums subscribed on the property segment have registered a 208% increase compared to the previous year. This has made ASTRA Asigurari come in first in the top insurers on this business segment and, therefore, in 2009, the company registered subscriptions of lei 135,517,721 compared to 44,020,957 in 2008.
On the auto insurance segment, ASTRA Asigurari has subscribed lei 286,303,602 lei for vehicle liability insurance, registering an 85% increase compared to the subscribed gross premium level performed in the previous year, which once again sets the company - an insurer with tradition on this segment - as a market leader. For Casco, ASTRA Asigurari has registered a subscribed gross premium level amounting to lei 294,220,500.
The marine insurance activity also held an important position in 2009, amounting to lei 11,744,866, registering a 13 % increase compared to 2008. The general insurance class, registering a 50% increase in 2009 was the aviation insurance segment (casco and civil liability), increasing from lei 22,898,445 in 2008 to lei 34,283,228 in 2009.

The life activity has also been subject to a dynamic evolution, with subscriptions amounting to lei 9,954,089 in 2009 compared to lei 7,279,908 in 2008. The 37% increase of the subscribed gross premiums resulted from the life activity is the direct result of the launch of new life and health products and of the consolidation of our department.
The damages paid by ASTRA Asigurari for non-life insurance have registered a 17% increase in 2009 and a total value of lei 328,167,179 compared to lei 280,560,691 in 2008, materialized in 69,169 compensated cases.
Objectives set for 2010
The company has set the objective to conclude the 2010 financial exercise with a profit of lei 11,785,000 and an income resulted from the subscribed gross premiums of lei 1,160,147,000, registering a 40% increase compared to 2009. Aside from the profit margin, the company's objectives are for it to continue to provide its clients with fast, competitive services consisting of efficient insurance products, for a fair price to its clients.
