Starting with 15.07.2010, in accordance with Law no. 260/2008, all owners of real estate intended to be used as housing are bound to insure them against risks of earthquake, land slides and flood. Housings for which an insurance is concluded are classified according to the materials from which they are made, which moreover determines the value for which they are insured and the insurance premium (amount) that must be paid annually, as such:

• type A buildings - insured for the value of EUR 20,000 - with a supporting structure made of reinforced concrete, metal or wood or with external walls made of rock, burnt brick or made of any other materials resulted from thermal and/or chemical treatment - for which an annual EUR 20 insurance premium shall be paid;
• type B buildings - insured for the value of EUR 10,000 - a building with external walls made of unburnt brick or any other materials that were not subject to thermal and/or chemical treatment - for which an annual EUR 10 insurance premium shall be paid.

PAD policy - a mandatory policy that must be concluded by the end of this year!
