The ASTRA company provides optional insurance of goods during transport by railway, sea, river, airway or mixed, both on the Romanian territory and abroad, granting compensation for the losses and damages generated during insured transport. Insurance may be concluded in lei or in foreign currency, under one of the following conditions:

• Condition A (All risks)
• Condition B (Specific damage liability)
• Condition C (No liability for specific damage)

ASTRA may also cover liability for other causes aside those specified under the abovementioned conditions (undertaken according to the Institute Cargo Clauses), when each risk afferent to such events was explicitly and separately covered within the conditions and terms of this policy. Such losses or damages refer especially to those caused by rain, fresh water, theft, quantity insufficiencies, incomplete deliveries, contact with foreign objects, breakage, rust or oxidation, leakage. Political risks (war and strikes) are excluded however, at the insured's request, they may be covered in exchange for an additional premium. Expenses incurred by the insured to limit and decrease the damage, the salvage and preservation of the insured goods, expert and attorney fees, travel fees, guarantees and deposits for joint damage, fees, charges and other similar expenses are also compensated.
