The Romanian Federation of Athletics and Astra Asigurari - a partnership for the Super League
The access of the national team in the Super League, the involvement in the promotion of mass sports (in order to increase the selection mass), the training and motivation of trainers, as well as the development of the infrastructure are the objectives of the Romanian Federation of Athletics (FRA) for 2011. Strategically, in order to meet such objectives, FRA has decided to maintain its partnership with the Astra company, a leader on the Romanian insurance company. This means that ASTRA Asigurari provides the Romanian Federation of Athletics with the champion t-shirts inscribed with the logos of the two institutions, together with the Romanian flag, in 2011 as well.

Supporting performance sports, as well as amateur sports
The "Play Arenas" event took place in June 2010, in Bucharest, Herastrau Park, and the Project was supported and encouraged by Gabriela Szabo.
Our company, as supporter of professional sports, also has an active involvement in mass sports. Children with ages between 3 and 14 were invited to spend a sports day together, in open air.
The children could sign up for competitions such as: football, volleyball, relay races, climbing, badminton, games/inflatable mattresses.

Oltchim Rm. Valcea
In 2009, ASTRA Asigurari concluded yet another successful partnership - with the highest rating team in Romanian women’s handball - C.S. "Oltchim" Rm. Valcea. ASTRA Asigurari supplied a life insurance policy with the afferent coverage for the team of female players and for the managers of the Valcea Club in 2009. "We are a successful company and we only associate ourselves with strong partners, of our own size", Mr. Radu Mustatea, President of the ASTRA Asigurari Directorate, specified during the official event, when he received the t-shirt bearing number 10 from the Club Management, together with a recognition plaque for the involvement and support granted to the high performance in Romanian handball.
'We do not wish that you encounter any accidents, but you can be sure that you will be compensated under the best possible conditions", the ASTRA Asigurari manager specified.

Aviation - Adrenaline, speed and performance.
Aviation - Adrenaline, speed and performance. These are the key words of the two important aviation events that took place in 2009, on the Romanian sea-coast, where Astra participated as a main Insurer.
Aeromania and Mamaia World Elite Acrobatic Formula are two exceptional aviation shows that are very popular amongst plane enthusiasts. The two competitions managed to bring together successful names in aviation and renowned pilots. The most important Romanian insurance company associated its name with these projects as an indisputable market leader on the aviation segment.

FRA 2008, 2009, 2010 - 3 years of partnership with the Romanian Federation of Athletics
"We are honored by this partnership. The national champions of today will represent Romania worldwide in global and Olympic competitions. We are glad to be together with them by providing them with the champion t-shirts inscribed with the logos of the two institutions, together with the Romanian flag this year as well.", declared the President of the ASTRA Directorate.

Play Arenas - a project under the signature of Gabi Szabo
The ASTRA Asigurari Company was there for the charitable organizers of this event in 2009, providing the 1,000 children who have signed up for the race challenges with t-shirts bearing the logo of the ASTRA Asigurări company and of the “Sports for Life” campaign. Moreover, the campaign awarded the winners with prizes consisting of sports items. In 2010, ASTRA Asigurari re-edited the support granted to this project, encouraging mass sports amongst children.

• Bucharest City Marathon 2009, October 18th, 2009
ASTRA Asigurari held a double position in its participation in the Bucharest City Marathon 2009: as a sponsor, providing an accident insurance policy for all the sports players who had signed up for the competition and prizes for the winners. Moreover, the company participated in the Corporate Race, coming in fifth out of the total 81 teams who had joined the competition. Congratulations to our colleagues who have raced in the competition!

As leader on the marine and aviation hull insurance, as well as by its position as an ardent supporter of sports competitions, ASTRA Asigurari was the Official Insurer of Class One Romania Grand-Prix for the third year in a row.
