You will make sure the cause that generated the damage has been removed, if possible (the valve of the water or gas grid was closed, the fire was put out, the water infiltration holes were covered, the electricity was turned off).

Potential damages occurring after the generation of the event, due to the fact that no measures were taken to limit them, shall not be paid by the insurer.

You will attend the ASTRA ASIGURARI point of service in the area where you have your domicile or where the repair of the vehicle will be carried out and you will request a DAMAGE APPROVAL form which you will fill in (The form can also be downloaded from here). The form contains columns where you will fill in the precise data on the event occurrence, which is why, if you were not a witness to the occurrence of the event, you will have to submit to the file statements of the persons who have witnessed the event that has generated the damage.

In order to open the damage file, it is necessary to have an ID and a copy of your insurance policy on you.

After submitting the abovementioned documents and after filling in the approval, the damage inspector shall open a file and it shall be bound to provide you with an investigation report specifying the number of the file, the name of the inspector, the steps to be followed and the documents required for the finalization of the file.
