You will make sure your vehicle is capable of traveling, in order to travel by it to the investigation center of ASTRA ASIGURARI, nearest to your domicile or to the place where the accident occurred.

Potential damages that may occur after the generation of the event, due to the fact that no measures were taken to limit them, shall not be paid by the insurer.

If the vehicle can no longer travel by itself, it shall be transported on a platform to the nearest repair unit that can perform the repair or to the nearest vehicle shelter (garage or parking space at the insured person’s domicile). Holders of the EUROCASCO policy can call the Roadside Assistance Service that is provided free of charge.

You will attend the ASTRA ASIGURARI point of service in the area where you have your domicile or where the repair of the vehicle will be carried out and you will request a DAMAGE APPROVAL form which you will fill in (The form can also be downloaded from here). The form contains columns where you will fill in the precise data on the event occurrence, which is why the attendance of the vehicle driver who was involved in the event is mandatory.

The following documents are required to open the damage file:

• Amiable accident investigation, standardized special form - not a photocopy.
• Documents drawn up by the Police, in the original. If the accident was recorded by the Police, the latter shall draw up a Contravention Report or, as appropriate, a Repair Authorization + Annex no. 2.
• The mandatory vehicle liability insurance of the party at fault for the accident or of the owner of the vehicle driven by it - in a copy.
• The CASCO policy - in a copy.
• The registration certificate of the vehicle submitted for investigation - in original and a copy.
• ID + driver’s license - in the original and a copy.
• Power of attorney, if the vehicle is owned by a legal person.
• The attendance of the natural person owner is mandatory during the investigation and, if this is not possible, it is necessary to submit a notarized power of attorney.

After submitting the abovementioned documents and after filling in the approval, the damage inspector shall open a file and it shall be bound to provide you with an investigation report specifying the number of the file, the name of the inspector, the steps to be followed and the documents required for the finalization of the file, as well as the list of service units under a collaboration agreement with ASTRA ASIGURARI.
